The investment community has been expecting a major shakeup in 2018, with some speculating about a possible IPO of a number of companies.
But one of the biggest investors in the sector has said he’s not expecting to see any big changes in the way investments are made in 2019.
“I don’t think there will be any significant changes in 2019,” said Bill Peters, chairman of Peters Investment Advisory.
“If anything, I think we’ll be seeing a continuation of the same level of investment, just more focused on the technology side of things.”
The industry is facing some major changes, including the rise of blockchain technology, which is a distributed ledger that provides transparency about transactions.
“Blockchain technology has given us a whole new level of transparency in our lives,” Peters said.
“We’ve seen some big changes that we’re excited about.”
Peter said that as the industry develops, he believes the potential for companies to offer financial services, including insurance, will only grow.
“It’s going to be a very, very exciting year,” Peters predicted.
“In fact, it’s almost impossible to predict how the industry will evolve and what we’ll see over the next few years.
We’re just hoping to be part of that evolution.”
