Ark Invest has raised $6.5m in a Series B round of funding led by Google Ventures, with the company’s management team and investors including Jana Partners, R2 Ventures, Capital One Ventures and Founders Fund.
The company, which aims to revolutionise how people invest in the future, aims to transform the way investors think about capital markets.
Its stock has gained more than 50% over the past year, and it has also been able to scale, thanks to a rapid growth in its user base.
The firm was founded in 2013 and is now headquartered in Los Angeles, California, with offices in New York and London.
The firm raised more than $3m in Series A funding last year.
“Investors are increasingly looking for an independent and proven asset manager with deep experience in the investment industry,” Ark Invest co-founder and CEO Jason Smith told Engadge.
“We see the value in Ark Invest, which is backed by an established team, is going to provide the platform that we need to deliver on Ark’s vision to make investing a simpler, more accessible and more effective experience.”
